Bio
Marissa Dumlao is an artist from the Bay Area that specializes in alternative photographic processes. She is currently working toward her Bachelor of Fine Arts in photography at San José State University in California, from which she will graduate in the spring of 2025. Through cyanotype, van dyke brown, and gum bichromate printing, she focuses on themes of mental health, self-discovery, and the human condition. Marissa enjoys experimenting with combinations of alternative processes, such as, cyanotype on silver gelatin prints, or van dyke brown prints of scanned polaroid emulsion lifts.
